History

Orchestrated by Tchaikovsky while staying at Sophie Menter's home at Itter in Austria, from 10/22 September to 20 September/2 October 1892.

This work is no longer believed to be the Concerto in the Hungarian Style, composed by Franz Liszt in 1885, as was once suggested by some of Liszt's biographers.
