Philadelphia is the largest city in the state of Pennsylvania, in the United States of America.
Tchaikovsky visited Philadelphia on 6/18 May 1891, as part of his American tour. Arriving straight from Washington, he conducted the Piano Concerto No. 1 (soloist Adele aus der Ohe), at a symphony concert in the city's theatre, before departing for New York that same evening.
