Elena Nikolaevna Moiseeva

Adopted grand-niece of the composer. Boin in 1897 as Elena Aleksandrovna KHAIKMAN (Хайкман). In 1903 she was adopted by Nikolai Karlovich VON MECK and his wife Anna L'vovna (b. DAVYDOVA), and thereby became Elena Nikolaevna VON MECK (Фон Мекк).

In 1917 Elena married Nikolai Sergeevich MOISEEV (d. 1933), assistant professor at Moscow University, who was arrested in 1929 as part of Stalin's purges. The couple had two sons:

1. Nkita Nikolaevich MOISEEV (1917-2000), scientist in the field of general mechanics and applied mathematics, and leading member of the Russian Academy of Science.
2. Sergei Nikolaevich MOISEEV (1923-1948).

Elena Moiseeva died in 1926, aged 29.
