Ekaterina Laroche

Third wife of the composer's friend Herman Laroche, born Ekaterina Ivanovna Sinel'nikova (Екатерина Ивановна Синельникова, Yekaterina Ivanovna Sinel'nikova); known after her marriage as Ekaterina Ivanovna Larosh (Екатерина Ивановна Ларош, Ekaterina Ivanovna Laroš, Yekaterina Ivanovna Laroche).

Ekaterina came from a family of important bankers and landowners in Ekaterinoslav province, and was acquainted with Tchaikovsky even before her marriage to his friend in 1889. They were very close during the last years of the composer's life, and often travelled abroad together.
