Mariia Kiseleva

Step-sister of Konstantin and Vladimir Shilovskii (d. 1921), born Mariia Vladimirovna Begicheva (Мария Владимировна Бегичева, Marija Vladimirovna Begičeva, Mariya Vladimirovna Begicheva); known after her marriage as Mariia Vladimirovna Kiseleva (Мария Владимировна Киселева, Marija Vladimirovna Kiseleva, Mariya Vladimirovna Kiseleva).

Mariia was the daughter of the dramatist Vladimir Begichev (1838–1891); when her father married Mariia Shilovskaia (1830–1879), she became step-sister to the composer's friends Konstantin and Vladimir Shilovskii. Tchaikovsky was introduced to Mariia at the family estate at Glebovo in the spring of 1876.
