History

No information has survived regarding Tchaikovsky's work on this arrangement for piano (2 hands) of Aleksandr Dargomyzhskii’s musical-fantasia Kazachok. It was possibly carried out at the request of friends — most likely the Shilovskiis, who were related to Dargomyzhskii and often visited him.

The work was issued by Petr Jurgenson in 1868
